On the work
My name is Maria Iagăru and I am a UI/UX designer and an artist. I have a hearing impairment — I hear and speak normally — and I believe it is exactly what gave me an unusual visual sense: I understand the world best through colours and shapes.
Beyond digital design, my great passion is painting. I work happily in both oil and acrylic. I do not look for inspiration in imagination but in plain reality: I like to paint things, landscapes and real details, exactly as they are in nature.
Every painting on this site is an original, one of a kind, painted by hand. Beside the paintings I also make handmade objects. No reproductions and no editions: what you see here exists once, to bring a piece of the real world’s beauty into your home.
